1.6 rockers with stock springs/cam...
Re: 1.6 rockers with stock springs/cam...
It depends on who you talk to. I've spoken with a lot of people who said that it will work fine and i've also talked to people who said that I would need to change springs. I'm going to be running 1.6 RR's very soon on my car with the stock cam and springs.

to be safe, id toss on some LT4 springs from the hotcam kit, good to .525".
ive personally ran 1.6 rockers on stock springs for quite awhile now, and have even ran the RPM's up. everything is cool here.

Stock springs are good for .481" and you'll be at .480 with those 1.6's. Unless your motor is near brand new or low mileage, I wouldn't trust those stock springs past 5000 for very long. Since you can spend $72 total for LT4 springs with retainers and locks from Pace Performance, why would want to chance dropping a valve?

How much RWHP are 1.6 rr worth with new springs, retainers and locks. On a sock cam and some basis intake and exhaust bolt ons. Just curious, because I am tinging about going that route if its worth the time and money
