1.6 Int 1.5 Exh
1.6 Int 1.5 Exh
In my efforts to find the right cam for my application I have decided to probably go with the cc503 (224/230). My only problem is It sounds like that cam needs at least 2500 RPM to start really making power. I've heard that using different lift rockers on the int/exh can help keep some of that low end. Anyone try this on their LT1?
I'm running relatively stock iron heads. I'll be cleaning them up a little, but it probably won't make a huge CFM difference. I also read that shorties can will make better low end while LT's will pull more up top. I'm using stock internals, so don't plan on spinning 7K.
Will getting this cam ground on a 114 lsa help?
I like the results people are getting with the 224/230, but I don't want to lack on the low end. Car is a manual. I wouldn't notice the difference in low end anyways since i'm going from my TBI 305 to this engine.
Anyone know when the cc305 starts pullng, or the 218/224?
THanks for any help!! I'm only home every couple months, so that limits my research time since don't have a computer at school. I have to leave again tomorrow but am trying to get the engine parts together. I'll be throwing her together in my upcoming class "High perf engines".
Later, Matt!

I just changed my stock 1.5 stamped rockers for 1.65 full rollers. Honestly, I cann't tell the difference by the butt-o-meter. My lift was .503/.510. The new lift is in my sig and I have top of the line LT1 ported heads. They may of gave me 10-15hp, but i cannt feel it. This is not a torque cam imo. You got to rev it to get results.
