1/4 times with HOTCAM!!!!

well i finally got my car out to the track last night for the first time since my hotcam/header install. now this is only my second time to the track ever!! and i pretty much suck!! but here is how it went.......

RUN 1

R/T .681
60' 2.240
1/8 8.677
MPH 85.01
1/4 13.133
MPH 110.78

RUN 2

R/T .987
60' 2.290
1/8 8.708
MPH 87.39
1/4 13.165
MPH 111.64

overall im pretty happy. considering im such a bad driver! i KNOW my 60' times HAVE to come down! but im thinking if i lower my 60' then i should have potential for 12's!! what do you all think?!

if i knocked my 60' down to around 1.7-1.8 what do you think i could get my ET down to!?

For ever tenth off your 60', expect .15 to.2 off the big end.

Yeah you would probably get a 12.4-12.6 if you 60's were around 1.7-1.8.

Those are really good mph for the hotcam with stock heads. The best I have been able to run out of mine was 108mph. Now its time to get some sticky tires!

Nice times, even if you can get a 1.99, or 2.00, you more than likely got a 12 second car.

Wow, nice trap speeds!

You'll be breaking into the 12's soon.

Those sixty foots are horible, yeouch, man, get those down in to the 1.7 range and that car will rip down the 1/4. It has good mile an hour though.

Lately ive been wondering about doing it once i get down to putting in the headers i have. My question is, how hard was the install. Ive seen the install pages, but just want some feedback.

thanks guys! im really happy! its pretty cool to actually start off with mid 14 sec car and actually work on it yourself then finally get to see the results of all your hard work!!

my first run was actually against a 03' supercharged COBRA!! i had him all the way down the track till the end where he began to pull away! he ended up running a 12.8

im def. looking forward to hitting the track again and getting some more experience! 12's really dont seem so far away!

i think people turn away from the hotcam setup because it is considered a "baby" cam around on this board. when i was looking for a cam everyone says oh go BIGGER!! well if my car is capable of running mid 12's with the "baby" hotcam and STOCK UNTOUCHED heads..... then im really glad i went with the cam.

i def. dont think its the cars fault for my HORRIBLE 60' times! i admit the whole dragracing thing is new to me. the first run i actually lugged the engine off the line, and then the second run i ended up just spinning. with some more practice i will soon see 12's!!!

the install was fairly simple. and this was the first time i have EVER done anything like this. its pretty straight forward. shoot me a PM or email with any specific questions.

dang , I need to figure out whats holding my car back. I was running 2.0X 60 foot times with 8.917 being my best 1/8th mile time. Somethings holding my car back . I got my car in the shop getting 2 broken header bolts fixed as my car was dumping exhause out the front driver and rear passenger areas of my headers as I couldnt get them to stop leaking. After I get it back im gonna get it tuned finally. Hope this will do it lol. I get code front driver o2 sensor codes every now and then and code 403 (bank 2 catylitic ineffeciency). Im hoping that was cold air getting in the exhaust. Any thoughts ???
