1/4 time question?

I have a 93 z28 camaro with 55,000 miles. In the summer it ran a best of a 14.1 and consistant 14.2 with only a Morso intake and a Magnaflow muffler. I have 3.73's and mac headers are on the way. With that done could i pull a 13.6-13.8??
Then in the up comming summer i will probably get some 1.7 rr. So my next question is provide i have traction what could i run with cai,mac headers, and 3.73's? THANKS!

Re: 1/4 time question?

a 13.6 is very possible with the 3.73's and the mac headers.......and typically the 1.7rr's add around 10-15 hp......so maybe a 13.4-13.5 with the 1.7rr's.

Re: 1/4 time question?

For what its worth i ran a 13.837 @ 100.96 with only a CAI and cat-back everything else is stock. So with the headers and the gears i think its totally possible to hit 13.6 ... hell if i had my reaction time better i could have hit 13.6 myself

Reaction time has absolutely nothing to do with your et. The clock doesn't start until you cross the line.....so in actuallity you could have a 5 second reaction time and you still would have ran your 13.83.

I have a best of 14.2 @ 97mph with the stuff in sig. That depresses me

-Joe

edit: For some reason sig isn't showing up. Here are mods:
TB Bypass, A/C Delete, CAI and LT1 Air Scoop, 3" Flowmaster Catback, MSD Ignition Coil, Trick Flow Ceramic 1LE Intake Elbow, Hypertech 160* Thermostat, Manual Fan Switch

Re: 1/4 time question?

You should see low 13's w/ those mods...not sure why you would do just 1.7's alone without cam

Re: 1/4 time question?

a 2.1 60 foot on street tires really isn't all that bad in all honesty....I would worry about a 2.2 or worse 60 foot though. I pulled like a best of a 2.099 60 foot when I had street tires.....then I was cutting consistant 2.000-2.02x 60 foots with drag radials and a 1 time best 60 foot of 1.974. Just practice your launch.....trust me, flooring it off the line will do no good for street tires unless the track prep is awesome and you have some very good hooking street tires......otherwise you will spin. Heck I spun pretty badly on brand new tires when I floored it and I have some wimpy *** 2.73 gears.

Re: 1/4 time question?

Are you shifting it manually or letting it shift itself?
I'm running on some Kumho's. They are okay tires, but nothing to call home about when it comes to traction. I hope to run it again once I get some DRs and Torque Arm.

Re: 1/4 time question?

I'm assuming that since you went in the summer it was humid. If you have your slips, check the humidity. I've gained more than 1/2 a second just ased on low humidity.

The question was directed towards MarkyMark. But If you have any other suggestions as well it'd be appreciated. I just see all over the boards guys pulling high 13s on minimal work with an LT1. And Here I am still hanging out in the lowly 14s .

Don't Look Back - It was a cool night on wednesday that I pulled my 14.2s, not sure what the humidity was though.
