1/4 mile times with Mods Listed (383 Stroker)...Discussion...

Hi all...

I'm about to finish a 383 stroker project and I'm curious as to what you all think I'll be able to do with it in the Quarter...

Forged Eagle Crank
Forged CP (Flat Top) Pistons
Forged Crower Rods
Comp Cam (Custom Grind)
Ported LT1 heads/Valve Job
1.6 Rockers
Hooker Long Tube Headers
Y pipe
Borla Catback
Aluminum Flywheel
Mcleod Street Twin
Rebuilt Tranny
K&N FIPK
Ported LT1 Intake
58 mm TB
Plugs/Wires
Custom Tune
Electric Water Pump
4:10 Gear
Ripper Shifter
Drag Radials

Estimated at 420 or so RWHP...

I figure...with good traction...I should be able to pull 11's

Then...after the next Round of mods...

12 bolt
150-200 Nitrous Shot
Lower Control Arms
Pan Hard Rod
Drive Shaft
Torque Arm
Slicks...

Hopefully Then I'll see 10's and maybe high 9's

What do you all think....???

Am I leaving out any Necessary Mods...

Just wanted to hear others perspectives and maybe similar build feedback...

Thanks,
TIM

Who did the heads and everything degreed in? How aggressive of a tune?

And your rear-end will be facing death, so watch your DR psi.

Heads were done by a local who specializes in Race Motors for many guys in the area...I don't have Numbers yet but they are very comperable to most vendors Stage 2 or so heads...I didn't want to do a FULL Job but something close...

Yea...I know the Rear will be in great jeopardy if I go the Drag Radial route before the 12 bolt... If I do this, I'll just make one or two passes every blue moon at the local strip...

While that combo has the ability to run lower 10s, its not as easy as everyone thinks. The faster you go, the faster you start breaking WEIRD parts. Every part of the car gets stressed harder and harder.

Ive followed the buildup of and tried to help whenever i can with my buddies 396 LT1. The engine made 580+ hp on the engine dyno leaving the shop. It has been 1.5 years since the engine is in the car, and just now he broke into the 10s NA. He has gone through 3 optis in the last month alone b/c of high RPM, and they explode internally. He broke out his 9 inch gears and shattered the pumpkin. He bent an aftermarket torque arm in two. Then once that was fixed he ripped the TA mounting brackets off. The list goes on and on.

Just want you to know EXACTLY what you are getting yourself into if you want to do it at the track.
