There would also be a few other sensors you could check. Such as the MAP, IAT, MAS. And if all else fails do a compression check.
Also if your timing is advanced to far from the tune and its starts to detonate it could slow it to a crawl.

just my 2 cents

okay, even though your looking at bad 1/4 mile times, a big factor in the equation is you mph. and thats what is not looking right to me. you could have 400rwhp and still not get good times. i dont think spinning is your problem with this car.
btw- you can download datamaster for free and do 20 free logs before you have to pay for it. well worth the trial. get some obdI cables at www.akmcables.com. if your gonna keep this car, theyre worth the $90.
as far as the car goes, i was wondering if you knew how it was driven? body condition doesnt really matter (at least to me... to a point anyways. as long as its restorable.). that could make a difference on how good of shape your motor is in.

Unless you are at big elevation above sea level your car is a huge pooch!!
Sorry but only way to say it. Your mph should be closer to 97 /98 so like everyone says you look to be down like 70 hp.
You need to start with basics..scan the car and check fuel pressure..
First you need to know if pump is good,I think read you changed filter.
Then possibly injectors are badly clogged.
Then spark ,think also read you have new plugs and wires...if one plug is not connected that might explain the bad mph and slow times .Your car is almost as slow as a v6 !!
I also would mabye put money on a clogged cat...take cat off or put in highflow. Buddies car was super pooch with clogged cat ,would barely run, idle or rev but didn't throw any codes.
If the above don't work..also maybe try new ignition coil. Then still slow as slug pretty much time to check compression and then do leakdown if anything looks funny after compression check and yes I know compression check is super difficult on the lt1s. A change to some headers like macs can greatly help plug access also.
I think clogged cat or fuel pump or clogged injectors is likely your problem.
Also do a quick vacuum test and see what vac you are pulling..if its steady etc.
Does your car smoke bad..idle super rough, knock loudly..?
I guess major shot tranny might possibly do something like this..is the tranny slipping big time..your time got slower letting the tranny shift itself..weird..
Also your 60fts are bad.would think a 2.2 or 2.3 is doable with your near stock car and wheelspin should be minimal if you have 2.73 a bit worse with 3.23.
Buddies 94z with flowmaster, airfoil, air filter and thats about it did 13.8 at 99mph with old bfg drags and 2.0 60ft .He usually is low to mid 14s on street tires and he has near 90,000 miles on his car. He has 3.23 gears. You can tell which gears you have with quick glance at the shifter. IF you have 1 on the shifter plate you have 3.23 and if you don't have the 1 then you have 2.73.
There is no way your car should be running 15s ,stock third gens run 15s at our track which is 1700 feet above sea level!!

i used to have an auto camaro (stock) though and was thinking i launched at ~2500rpm. couldve been less. dang memory doesnt serve me that well anymore...
anyways, i would take it up to about as high as i could without tire spin. practice will dictate to where you can hold the rpm's at.
Re: 1/4 mile time for '94 Z28
Today I was bored so I went and took off the jet performance computer module. So far the car seem to be running alot better than before, now I can punch it from a dead stop and leave black marks when before the car was barely barking the tires. Plus just driving at 30mph and punching it, it'll break the tires loose and you can feel a difference. I'm hoping I'll get a chance this weekend to take it back to the track and see how it runs. Plus I've setup a site on our family website for my car. I should have some pic's up soon and also possible some video.
Thanks for all the replies it's been helpful, I've already got a list start on stuff to do check/fix on the car.

took mine to the track and ran 14.12 on a typical hot and humid day in missouri if it was cooler out 70 instead of 95 might have gone sub 14 (also did a plug and wire change since) also do not manually shift a 94 or higher LT1 because the computer shifts for you and it is dead on every time

Now that I've taken off that Jet module, I"m gonna go run it again and I'll be leaving it in D from now on.
Re: 1/4 mile time for '94 Z28
Your breakin em free from 30 mph???? Damn. Mine barely breaks em free from a stop. I'm still runnin 13.7 with the mods below, which arn't really anything but stupid little crap. I am about to hit 100K.

Yep it really surprised me, before when I'd slam the gas to the floor the car would just take off. This it shocked me cause it felt like my backend was fish'tail'n then I heard the tires barking. After my wife gets home today I'm going to take it out on some back roads and play around some. She was telling me today on her way to work that she opened up on the highway and it seem to be running quicker (plus throwing CD's in the backseat).
BTW yesterday when I took that jet module off the PCM (basicly a plug it plugged in to the Gray port on the PCM), I was bored so I popped off some little cover on the PCM and found a chip you could take out. It looked new and had this two line numbers on it.
16177700
1054115
these were the only thing printed on it that I saw, anyone know what that chip was?
Re: 1/4 mile time for '94 Z28
lol, dont go taking out the knock sensor. you need that.
thinking about what you said about the cd's getting thrown to the back seat. i had my cigarette lighter plugged in my dash (keep it plugged in for looks) and when i launch, it will come flying out and into the back seat. lol, along with my radar detector on the windshield. i cant keep hardly anything thats not secure in front of me anymore for fear ill lose an eye!

Re: 1/4 mile time for '94 Z28
I know the feeling, just need to figure out what I'm gonna do with my cd's now. O' and btw a few post back I was telling how out of the blue my driver side windows started cutting out. Well after talking to my brother his car is doing the same thing. I looked around on the forums here and found this post about the thermal switch in the motor basicly going out and killing the window. So I took both my motors out and by passed that thermal switch and now the windows are working good I think even a little faster too.
Heres a link to the other post. Window fix post

Re: 1/4 mile time for '94 Z28
ah, you shouldve just replaced the motors. theyre like $60. the thermal switch is in there for a reason. so the motor doesnt get too hot. when it does, the switch shuts off power to the motor.
Re: 1/4 mile time for '94 Z28
Yeah I'm probably going to but just did this for the heck of it and so I can use my window until payday like next month, this next check is already gone on bills and stuff I'll be changing/fixing on the car.
