1/4 mile LT1 traction

Do you guys think i could mount a set of 17x11 ZR1 rims with 315/40 tires on the back and 17x9 ZR1's with 275/40's in the front without any problems. Should this give me a little better 1/4 performance and cornering performance over the stock 245/50's? I have a 425+lbs/TQ and around 375 rwhp.

PS. What are used(in really good condition) stock alloy rims selling for?

Holy! I'm not an expert at all, but I think just the tires could bring your 1/4 down by .5s. It seems unreal that you would be getting any traction with only 245s and that much RWHP/TQ!

Not really. All you're doing with the 17's is adding more rotational mass and rolling resistance. Having a wider street tire in back is only going to help you a hair.

IMO, get the 17's to look good and cruise around on, then take 2 of your stock 16x8's and throw ET Streets on them.

you are going to have to trim ur rear finder to make 315's fit.

i agree with kain. drag radials or ET streets will help you the most

just get 17X9's covered in 275's all the way around....that way you can rotate them but you will also have wide enough tire to look good....and keep the 16's for the track of course

Well im not only putting on 315's for the track, I cant seem to let out the clutch without the tires spinning. Forget about driving in the rain in florida..... . I cant see why 315's will only make a little difference on the street and especially in the 1/4 mile. . All im wondering right now is how much can i sell a set of very good condition stock alloys for, and where can i get the 17x11 and 17x9.5 combination of ZR1 rims for CHEAP

ebay has ZR1 wheels. just search for "Camaro wheels"

as far as performance, a larger. wider street tire will hurt performance, because they weigh more. and the sidewall on 17 inch tires is less than that of a 16 inch tire, therefore it doesn't "Crumple" as much, and you're going to spin more.

if you can't-not spin the tires in the rain, don't drive it in the rain..

or take off in 2nd gear.
