[edit] these pacesetter LTs

Ok, i use the board alot to decide what should be a good upgrade, well i decided the pacesetter LTs would be good since so many people have them and suggest them. ALso talk about how they arent too bad to put in.. well i am callin BS on that. For one big reason the driver side the second bolt, how the HELL are you suppose to put a bolt in when the pipe bends right infront of it wtf???

Re: F*&K these pacesetter LTs

You gotta put that one in first. If you tightened up the other ones, just loosen them up so you can pull the header away from the head a little bit and it should go through. I repeat, THAT ONE GOES IN FIRST.

Hate to break it to ya but its just the nature of the beast. More brands than just Pacesetters use that design. Youve just got to get those started first with the flange spaced away from the head slightly and use an open end wrench to tighten it down. Good luck with it.

Re: F*&K these pacesetter LTs

If you f'd up like I did, I got the 12-pts which I could not use the open end of the wrench. I then took a die-grinder and "clearanced" the sides of the wrench and basically grinded it down flat.

Hope it helps.

Ps~ I did the exact same thing you did.

Re: F*&K these pacesetter LTs

yea i had to pull the whole header back off.. and about the only way i would be able to get it through is with a hammer, there is no way to possible get a 1" bolt through, unless i cut the pipe and bent it out of the way. or the only other option, which i plan on doing tommorrow, drilling the hole out so i can angle the bolt enough to get it through

I cut the second bolt down about a quarter of a inch.

Re: F*&K these pacesetter LTs

The ones i used were 1" too. 12 point Breslin bolts. I couldnt get a socket on most of them, so the torque wrench was pretty useless, so i had to tighten them with the little 3/8ths wrench. 30ft-lbs with a little tiny *** wrench kills your hands.
