PLEASE HELP>>>>

Even when lashed and tightened down correctly they are noisy. Zero lash them then go a 1/4 turn then tighten the nut...then tighten the set screw...then torque the nut again to lock it down.

theres no way i can lock it down....all it has is a long bolt with a nut in the middle of it which screws into the head then place the roller rockers on the bolts then put the other nut above the roller rocker.....there is no HEX in the middle of it...or nothing...
please help

What rockers are you trying to install. I have never seen a set without locking setscrews in the center. Maybe you aught to pick some up if they are used, or contact the rocker manufacturer because you got jipped!
If they are the rockers that are in the lt4 hot cam kit as your sig indicates they are the same as the crane gold and should have a set screw.....without the set screw....well your screwed. You should be able to get some from Crane.
ok listen....well i got them all on, tighten them till they stopped, but they could still go..sicne i have HYDRALIC lifters it should be able to take the pressure...my idle is fine, except for the Long TUbe header idle ( still waitin on lt4 KM) but havent drove it out yet, but let it idle for a good bit and it idles fine....
the thing is, si the bolt that goes into the HEAD has the threads on the head side, and then a nut so you can screw it into the head, then it has a long shaft so the rr can fit on it, then it has a extra piece that you screw on with another size socket, 3/8 maybe or a 15mm i think...it does have a hole in the middle of it but its jsut a smooth shaft inside, no threads inside of it and once i go far enough in i hit the top of the bolt thats in the header....
so i think these were some weird ones i got...
but i hop ethis works out...if not i will order some from crane

ok I'm lost. Are you using polylocks? There are several different lengths availiable. when my friend recieved his used 1.6rr's the guy sent the wrong polylocks with it. He went to a local speed shop and bought some. As mentioned, without the small hex headed bolt in the middle of the polylock, there is no way to keep the polylock tight, its no longer a poly lock, just a poly
Forgive my poor attempt at humor.
Setting the rockers while running IMO is the best way, however I have set many with the enging off.

Just a thought here... but if you have 'REAL' LT4 studs [7/16] they have a shoulder on them, and the nut gets 'torqued' down...[might be why there are no poly locks?]
What was the source of the rockers?
Most of us use the LT1 studs, and adjusting nuts with the poly locks..
But be aware that if you have the LT4 STUDS they won't work either [as there's a shoulder on the stud]
Here's a link to what I am talking about:

Eyeball that, [4 pics near the bottom] the head cutaways.. you can[barely] see the difference in there [of the studs]?
Hope this helps you...

Let me get this straight (please do not think I am Flaming or being derogatory) You are running the nut down tight? then the center of the nut has a smooth inside surface? Is there no plug or anything in the inside of the nut?
