Quick question for those individuals who have converted to an LS1 CAI set-up on a LT1. Does modifying the stock hood provide enough space between the lid and hood or would it be more feasible just in terms of hood clearance just to switch to a Corvette CAI. (appears thinner around the radiator support area) Any technical info would be appreciated. Thanks

The LS1 stuff won't fit without switching over to the LS1 front clip. The LS1 cars have a bulge in the lower hood that allows clearance for the air cleaner.

 

So what you really trying to tell me is that it can fit but I need to change out my hood altogether. You know about the C5 CAI, I know its not near as bulky as the F-body CAI. thanks

You have to use the ls1 radiator shroud. And it will not fit/bolt up to an lt1 from what i've seen.

 

I though lt1 daves (dan??) car had the ls1 induction with the stock front clip.

 

His does. But I am pretty positive he had to mode some other things to get that shroud to fit on an lt1. He would be the one to ask. I tried asking him this with no success. I bought a ls1 shroud and took mine off and it looks it would need a bunch of hacking to get it to fit.
