$300 Brake upgrade

If you had $300 to do a brake upgrade, what would you do? Just front brakes.

Be careful that the spindles are straight and rebuild the calipers. There is a good caliper rebuild write up on installuniversity.com Also get new hoses while you're at it.

How long do you think it will take to swap it over? I'm guessing go to ebay to get it.

I think you should save a few hundred more and get the C5 upgrade. You can buy all the parts new for about $480. Or you can try to find some used calipers, and get it for even cheaper.

where can u buy all the c5 parts for 480 bucks?
250 for brackets
196 bucks for both calipers new
100 for pads
60 bucks for rotors
plus he'll need the hubs, and knuckles and brake lines.

ive been looking... priced around 750-900 bucks.

abc and advance auto has rebuilt calipers from vettes that are only 42 bucks, and a 20 dollar core charge. so for 125 you could have vette calipers unless you wanted the z06 ones, but id rather have custom powder coated calipers myself. and the brackets i believe, arent being made any more.
