Z28 Value

I was thinking of buying this car and wanted your price opinions.

1) What would a 01 Z28 6sp, hardtop, leather, preferred equipment with under 5K miles be worth?

2) Also, would I be looking at a big depreciation over the winter if the miles were kept the same?

3) If a f-body originally had Goodyear RSA tires from the factory, would the car have a speed limiter?

Let your opinions rip!

1) id have to guess the car would be worth between 17-19K Maybe a bit more if its in immaculate shape.

2) Honestly i don't have the knowledge to answer this one.

3) i dont remember if the RSAs were the lower rated tires. If the tires are not "Z" speed rated (as in 245/55/r16 instead of 245/55/Zr16) then the car will have a 115 mph speed limiter which can be edited out with a hypertech or a tune. if the tires are Z rated, the car, as all LS1s do, will have 162 mph limit, not that that tends to be a problem for most people

1) with under 5k miles and depending on options.. leather ttops etc up to 21k in EXTREMELY good shape.

2) Yes, look at the difference in price between am 00 and 01 with simialair miles. An 00 is worth about 2-3k less

3) If they have a Z in the size reading then you are governed at 162 otherwise at 118.

It would probably lose about $400-$500 in value during the winter. That would be a cool car to have, very low miles. kbb.com will tell you how much it's worth, it varies by area.

RPO code QLC is what you should be looking for on the driver side door sticker.

I thought the factory RS-As from Goodyear were 50 series, not 55 series?

I know mine were 50 series.

An '01 Z28 with those miles would probably be going for around $18k (and that's a fair price IMO) but it all depends on where you're looking (what part of the country).

RS-A's are 245/50s and they are Z-rated.

RPO = Regular Production Order I believe. It's just a code at the factory that's used to determine what is being installed on the car. The dealer also uses it for service parts.

QLC is just the code for the Z rated tires, just as Z28 is the code for the performance package.
