Z28 tires to SS tires question

Looking to replace my stock Z28 rims and tires to SS rims and tires. Other than the bigger tires, what else needs to be done?

SS wheels are 17" ......regualr Z28 wheels are 16" The computer will need to be adjusted for the size change in order for it to read correctly.

You don't have to worry about the speedometer. The tire height difference going from 245/50/16 tires to 275/40/17 tires is minimal at best.

You'll maybe see a difference of 1mph

Your speedo will be fine - both sizes are approx 25.7"

Contact SLP. Other rim manufacturers also make clone SS rims for a cheaper price. $500 dollars is excessive.

SLP makes the SS rims!
I got my 2002 Chrome ten-spoke SS rims for $900 + $60 (shipping). Check out www.slponline.com

They have great deals on real SS wheels.

If you keep your eyes open, you can usually find a set of 17" ZR1 rims without tires on here for $400-500, or $600-800 with tires.

Thumbs up

You will like SLP's . I Got the painted ones and wheels, they will still have the nips on the wheels. They are only driven 25-40 miles to SLP and taken off there. Later>>>>>> P.S. I have seen them on E-Bay for sale at times, but that is rare. Also will be more used.

Don't forget to pick up a pair of spacers to prevent rubbing under suspension load. http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...RTNUMBER=80046
