Parts that will go onto an LS1 from an LS6 would be the intake manifold, MAF, cam, heads.... Probably more... Some modifications might have to be done to them to make them work right.

Ported Z06 heads and cam are common LS1 mods.

I'm almost sure the LS6 engine will fit in an F-Body, they are nearly identical, you will need however a new PCM I think, and modify some other things. If your going t swap in an LS6, just get LS6 aftermarket parts, that way you know they will fit.

The LS6 fits nicely. I met a guy in Dublin (Peter), who has a TA WS7: The WS7= LS6 + stroked to 382 ci. + NOS.

They have the same mounting points, and same size. Not too hard.

The C5 tranny is mounted in the rear. It's not compatible with the F-body unless you're willing to reinvent the wheel

The T56 is the manual tranny GM put in all the LS1 & LT1-based F-bodies. Since the LS6 is a very mild derivative of the LS1, the T56 wil work fine on it as well.

The standard rating for a T56 is 450ft-lbs. The LS6 engine is not too powerful for the T56. A typical aftermarket T56 runs ~1800. You can buy a reace-prepped one which supposedly is good for 600-700lb-ft for ~$2400.

If money wasn't an issue, I'd opt for the LS6. I think you can get a 7.0L (C5-R) engine through GM as well, might want to check into that if you have deep pockets.
