Z-28 Coil Springs
Does anybody know exactly how much cutting 1/2 coil spring off the front will lower the car? how about 1/2 coil off the rear? How does the ride compare to lets say Eibach or some other after market spring. Mind you I'm not racing this thing on a track, it's just for street/cruise use! Thanks
I cut 1 coil off the front of mine. 1 3/4 off the rear.
Don't make my mistake and cut that much off the rear. I cut until it looked good... Then I filled the fuel tank and watched it get way too low.
Look at my website. Pages 1 & 6 for pics and info so you can make your own conclusions about look.
As far as ride goes, it is firm... pretty much the same as aftermarket springs. Handling is flat, on rails so to speak. I did put a Lakewood adjustable panhard on mine too, so that I could recenter the rear if needed. It didn't need it, but the bar was less than $100 and seems to be much stouter than the stock bar so I am not sorry I got it.
Save some big bux and do it yourself, as long as you have a little wrench sense about you.
