How do you get around emissions if you get long tube headers and an offroad y pipe. Do they make that short of a y pipe with cats that could go there for when i do have to take emissions.
i have a 98 z28 i am just looking for some suggestions before i go and spend the money.ANY IDEA's

If the testing facility does a visual inspection and knows what they are looking for then you will fail. Cats do NOT mean you pass. Even if they see two high flow cats under your car they will not be in the factory position and thus violates a federal law.

So the answer is if you get tested at a very strict station then your SOL. However, most people have found that a lot of the testing stations either do not do a visual or tend to not do them when they are busy and have lines forming. It's also been rumored that a fifty dollar bill falling out of your pocket sometimes makes good things happen.

It's definately worth getting LT headers and high flow cats are cool to kill that smell and allow you to pass a sniffer test. Best bet is to find and talk to car enthusiasts in your area and see if they have headers and how they pass inspection. That's what I did and the guys told me the stations out here in northern Illinois do NOT do visuals on OBII cars so I'm golden

Good Luck
