Which Y-Pipe & Cats?

Looking into getting a y-pipe and 2 hi flo cats for my 01 Z-28. Been looking around and so far I have found that SLP makes the y-pipe (189.95$) and both cats (349.95$) for my car. Pacesetter also makes the cats (139.99 apiece). Random Tech. makes the cats too (143.50 apiece) or I can get the whole thing (y-pipe w/ cats) from Bassani for 469.19$. I will not be buying headers at this time. Does anyone have any of these setups or know anything about them? How to the perform of stock? I was thinking about either sticking with the SLP stuff, or getting the slp ypipe with the Random Tech cats. Couldnt find a ypipe from Random. Thanks!

Personally, I wouldn't even bother if your not going with LT headers. Your going to get minimal gains as long as the stock manifold is in place. But if your intent on doing this then my advice is forget about buying a Y-pipe. Buy two highflow cats. Carsound are very inexpensive but I hear Random Techs are top of the line for quality. Then go to a muffler shop (one that does not mind bending a rule or two) and pay them to weld the new HF cats into a fabbed Y-pipe that they will make for you. You could expect to pay around $100 at the exhaust shop + however much the cats cost.

Good Luck

[QUOTE=lilthurmy03] I will not be buying headers at this time. QUOTE]

I'm somewhat in your shoes right now. If you do plan on get headers at some point, wait on the Ypipe and cats for now until you get your headers. . Otherwise you will just be buying another one when you get the headers, or trying to chop up your existing one to fit.
