..why you got to be like that, first of all welcome to the board, second of all, make up a sig, just to tell us what your running. Third, if no one helps you it's because this question has been asked many times so it gets to be very common. That's why I say do a search, top of the screen to the right. Type in "y-pipe" and have a look at many threads that may help you. If your questions have not been answered, then someone will help you sooner or later.

...but to answer your question, there are two ways to go. You could get an aftermarket y-pipe like an "offroad mac or random tech" or go custom. Better yet, you could be like me and get an FLP header system with the the option of going to race pipes or cats. There are many company's that make off road pipe's, when you do your search type in "offroad y-pipe". But remember if you go with an off road pipe you'll have to take into consideration o2 sensers and throwing off codes. Do more research, some one will help you.

Good luck

Go to www.lgmotorsports.com and look under the exhaust section for 98 to 02 LS1's. They have the mac ORP for $229 plus you will need to spend $90 for O2 simms.

If you are spending that much you might as well get the mac headers w/ ORP for $550 plus $90 for O2 simms. For $320 more you would get a lot more bang for your buck.

Good Luck!

ok guys this is what i have come to.... i found a shop that my freinds uncle owns hes going to set me up w/ custom pipes from the manifold out, yes manifold i dont have headers YET! doing this i'm eliminating everything both cat's or the one set of cats and a resinator. i'll be runnig the pipe straight to my muffler witch is a Magna Flow witch sounds great now. my questionis what size pipe should i use?? is 3in to big should i go w/ 2 3/4 or what?? after i get it done i'll post some pics.

Welcome to CZ28

2-1/2" should be plenty big for the y-pipe. Larger and they say you lose some low end torque at lower rpm's. Just like the large tube headers cause. Better at high rpm though, so depends on what you want.
2-3/4" is the stock pipe from the y-pipe colector to the muffler. Most of the aftermarket cat-backs are 3". Some say that the stock pipe is big enough untill you do some major engine work and headers. Let us know how the car sounds and that you have no other problems with the O2 sims. Get a sig so we know a little more who you are. Later>>>>>>>>

only one set of cats?? i see 2 sets of things under there. i know that the first set the really big ones are the cats, there right after the eguhst manifold, moving down the pipes therre is another object on the passanger side, maybe secondary cats or a resinator. am i right or completely wrong?

Whats the point of swaping the y-pipe out if your just going to get headers soon? Waste of money IMO. Just save your mone some more and get the headers. That y-pipe will be useless after you get headers.

1 set means two cats
2 sets means four cats.
You only have 1 set....trust us on this.
