i have to agree with the above.

the quality of my Bassani is top notch but the fittment is a bit of an issue. when the engine torques up it hits the frame on the driver side. i'm planning on fixing (hopefully) this with a set of poly engine mounts.

but if you can just get a set of headers with a pipe.

and honestly, the sound isn't that nice...quite raspy above 4K...not that i care what the car really sounds like if i am racing, only when i'm cruising...but still.

maybe look into just the pipes that go from the cats back to the Ipipe, and leave the cats in place, it will give more flow but maintain a more refined sound.

I think the SLP Y-pipe is a waste of dough! I personally would get a custom y-pipe made if you really want to replace the y-pipe. You could try this:
get a custom off-road y-pipe and have a bullet muffler installed in the intermediate pipe to cut the rasp OR get some high flow cats to replace the OEM cats.

Whats wrong with SLPs Y-Pipe?? Actually nothing. It makes very little difference over the stock pipe. Some people think it changes their exhust note. Id challange that 1 and chaulk it up along with those who also say they feel a seat of the pants difference with a lid and smooth bellows. To each thier own. For my 2 cents save the money get a off road pipe if and only if you plan on getting headers.

I have a very accurate butt o meter and the SLP Y-Pipe did help a little in the higher RPM's. And yes it does make the exhaust a whole lot cleaner (less rasp).

Ah nevermind. I also have a LM Y-Pipe and a ton of mods I cant list due to the signature restrictions. On a dyno it makes very little difference over stock. On the butt meter its all in the users head. Save your money for more worthwhile mods then boltons. The only bolton thats worth having is a set of SFCs. Horsepower gains are in the engine mods. Air and exhust mods which Ive done them all, add in total MAYBE an honest 10-20 HP and I sure couldnt feel anything different over stock. Dynos dont lie sop or butt dynos do.

But to whatever floats ones boat. Mods regardless of what they are do add up. Ive been driving and modding cars for over 30 years only a dyno tells the truth.

Another vote for the SLP y-pipe. Can't really tell you if you get any gains from it or not cause i put it on at the same time as the loudmouth. About 2 weeks ago, I stood behind my car and another person's car that had only the loudmouth and had somebody else rev up both cars....the difference in the sound was like night and day. It sounds SO MUCH better with the y-pipe.

I have SLP Y-Pipe and I know it's waste of $200. No gains and hardly any improvements in exhaust note.

Until you get headers, I would use that money on something that is much more worthwhile mods like ASP Pulley or S2 P/P TB.

How can nobody be getting any exhaust note change mine was very obvious and I am not the only one that has noticed the change.

It takes much of the rasp out at all RPM's.

Hearing aid anyone?

I must be deaf. Ive had a LM on 2 different f-bodies and if anything they were and arent loud to me at all. And I have no idea what a "drone or rasp" is. A drone is a worker bee and a rasp is for filing wood. Seems to me most of you guys should leave your exhust systems stock
