WS6 Opinions Please.

What is the best sounding exhaust for the WS6 or any LS1? Is there a lot of people that go into true duals? Thanks.

It depends on what sound you are looking for as well. Some like it quiet some like it loud.

True duals, gmmg, hooker, magnaflow are all good choices.

like they said before, check out ls1sounds.com and make your own opinion. People are as die-hard about their exhaust as they are about mustang vs fbody. Judge for yourself.

I have heard many on LS1's but more on LT1's. GMMG and duals I think sound the best on both.

It totally depends on what *you* like your car to sound like, and what *other* mods you have on there.

IMO, if you have headers, nothing sounds better than a Hooker catback.

A lot of people like the true duals approach...but I've known several people who had them and switched back to some other catback after a short period of time...

What was the reason for switching back to a cat-back?

obnoxious loud, resonating the interior, exhaust fumes coming right in your windows, vibrations, etc. Lots of people use their fbodies as their everyday drivers, after a while the above mentioned list can get annoying to some.

If i were you i would stay away from duals dumped at the axle if you are going with a ws6....it doesn't look that great with the cutouts in the back bumper...if you go duals (which i highly suggest) go over the axle...ls1sounds.com will have everythnig you need as far as what muffler you like...i like the 18" sweet thunders

Ditto.

Here's my setup: http://home.comcast.net/~myws6/exhaust.html

Here's how it sounded on the dyno: http://home.comcast.net/~ta2000/dynoflame.wmv
Here's the dyno runs, untuned after the header install: http://home.comcast.net/~ta2000/ta_dyno.JPG
And at the track: http://home.comcast.net/~ta2000/1342run.wmv

BTW, Hi all.

I'm Butch Nordstrom from Dracut, MA & have lurked for months as a non registered user & I just recently, & finally signed up.

I don't own a Camaro, but I do have an '00 WS.6.
My 1st & only mods are what you saw above.
I have an LS6 intake ready to go on & if all goes well, some head porting & custom cam are going in & then an LS1 edit tune by Don come spring so the car will dip into the 12's next time out.

BTW, it's best is a 13.42 on street tires with a crappy launch & very little seat time: http://home.comcast.net/~myws6/13secslip.JPG .

Finally crawled out of the woodwork huh. Welcome, and don't worry about not having a Camaro on this site. More than half of the registered members don't either. Lot's of f-body folks here, some Corvette owners, many wannabes who will have one some day, and lots of just plain car enthusiasts, yep even some Mustang owners.
