Wrong slp lid

Wrong slp lid

I bought a lid from a private party and oops forgot to specifie I have a 2000. Can the lid for the 98s-99 work for an 00? Or should I sell it and buy a new one?

Also I paid 105 for a slp lid with K&N W/ s&h.
Thats pretty good right?. P.S. the lid looks perfect.

You should be able to make it work, I guess I just thought the '01-'02 lids were the ones that were different.

You didn't get a bad price, I got my SLP lid, two K&N's and a worthless smooth air bellow for $75 I think.

It's easy to make a 00-02 lid fit a 98-99 but to use a 98-99 style you will need to put a breather filter on the AIR intake tube.

00+ models have the AIR pump hose coming out of the driverside. 99 and down do not have it.

You can use the lid but you need a breather for the AIR tube. You can get them at an auto parts store for less then $20.

If you weren't in Cali, I would offer to trade ya. My air pump has been disabled, but is still connected to the lid and in place because i need to fill in the hole in my lid when I take it off.

i agree it seems 2000 is the most difficult year to get parts for too.. you gotta be careful to make sure its compatiable and has all the hookups

The air pump pumps air into the exhaust manifolds to dilute the exhaust gasses when you start the car up...it turns off after a bit. Catylitic converters don't work until they are hot...so the air pump helps 'em out for a bit.
