Wot About Od
that is definately not true in an AUTO.. the only way my A4 would of hit the 150's was in OD.. AND I DID THAT DAILY!!
hehe
Heck, the manual says to leave it in OD for the A4 for normal driving.. That includes racing in my book because non of you out there can out shift an electronically controlled auto.. The only times you should get out of OD while driving forward would be when you are pulling stuff.. and not many of us have towing as an option we care to do with our cars.. heheh
When I had my A4, it was an LT1 with minimal bolt ons, no headers... It was running 105 traps at 13.4 and it never was out of OD... But I did that cars tranny right for what I wanted.. Used a shift kit and a Hypertech to adjust my shift points after seeing my power curve on a dyno..
Found the ones that worked.. When it would hit 2nd at the track after I launch a 1.9 on street tires, it would break them loose for a second or two, then regain traction.. mid 8 sec 1/8th miles...
good luck!

) when you push the car to WOT, it usually kicks into 3rd (Drive) and stays there for a long time.......................now your Sig says you've got 3.73's, so maybe you can hit top speed in 4th (OD), but I don't see anything wrong with accelerating in OD??
Like I said though, depending on the gears, you may or may not be able to accelerate in OD................and again, with 2.73's, they're capable of hitting (or coming damn close) to hitting the top-speed limiter (@~160mph) in 3rd gear, so there's no way I'd be able to hit 4th gear and keep accelerating
.EDIT: as far as driving in "Drive" vs. "Over-drive"??? There's nothing wrong with that either...............sure it may not be as fuel efficient (at higher speeds) but for city driving, the tranny will shift less often ( = less wear) and the power will be more readily available since you don't have to wait for the tranny to shift back into 3rd or even 2nd to speed up...................I drive in Drive all the time, and even on the highway sometimes in heavy traffic so that I don't keep coasting up on the back of cars ahead of me even when my foot is off the gas.................and IMO see no problems with this
.
