Well, as the title says, I was just wondering if a ported tb would lean out my car. I'm guessing no, since all the extra air flowing into the engine would also go through the maf sensor which would adjust the a/f accordingly. Am I right?

its fine. its air that already went trhough (and was calculated for) by the MAF.

prob a waste of $ though if its anything like it is on an LT1

Porting a MAF lets more air in than the sensor tells the computer. The same flow speed of air over the sensor equals more volume of air. Now the unreported air will lean the car but the computer will adjust the fuel to keep the car in the safe zone as far as air fuel ratio goes.
In my opinion screwing with the MAF at all is totally unnecessary. Look at my sig to see what you can run with a stock MAF.

He is porting the TB, not MAF.

Short answer: No. It won't hurt a thing.

Long answer: It won't hurt a thing, it is a worthwhile mod on LS1 cars, but it must be done right. There are a few porting services out there that do a great job for reasonable money. Make sure they are one that fills and reshapes all the ports inside the bell.

Good luck
Dave
