Question Will a new shifter help me?????

I have a 99 Z28 totally stock (for now), and I read about everyone getting short throw shifters like the slp, hurst, b&m, or the 5.o, and they say now they never miss a gear. Well I dont mean to toot my own horn but Ive never missed a gear. So does a shorter shifter make that much of a difference in other means or should I just stick with the stock? And if I should get one which one should I get? And do they all spring back to the center like the stock does?

The stock shifter is horrible. Everyone thinks they are god with the stock shifter. But really you just havnt tried a new shifter yet

I know I have never tried a new shifter but a lot of people ive seen on here or have talked to say that they constantly miss third gear, but I dont. So Iwas just wondering if there is still a big difference in other aspects of the shifter.

The big difference actually comes from the elimination of the sloppy rubber mount on the stocker. The short throws will also make you quicker.

Yeah faster engagement is the name of the game. It is of course a matter of preference as well. I would rather spend $160 bucks and feel good. On the other hand if you want to save your dough and spend it on something else it is totally up to you.

You dont need a short throw to be effective...But the Pro 5.0 rocks...Its possible to miss gears with and shifter though, so its comes down to the driver...
