I am thinking of getting a 9 inch moser from someone on the board and i want to put some slix on it (obviously) im also getting n20....so i should be around 475-500 depending on the shot...will my tranny go with this power? what if i dont spray directly out of the hole..wait till end of first?? any suggestions? how much would it cost to build a tranny to take a good track beating??

The T56 tranny is a very strong transmission. I have heard of people pushing 800HP on a T56. Make sure you have a strong driveshaft and yoke. What gear ratio do you plan on running with?

If you have a strong clutch, the next thing to consider will be the output shaft of the tranny. There are several people who have done high rpm clutch dumps with slicks, only to snap the output shaft . There is a thread in advanced tech about this. You can get a viper output shaft, which is stronger, but is larger and takes modifications to make it fit, or you can get a forged output shaft, which will be a direct replacement, but is expensive. Check out that thread and see what you think. Other than that, the t56 is pretty damn strong .

Sounds right to me. Personally, when I get a 12 bolt and more power, Im gonna take my chances. If I break it, then I might replace it with the stronger one. Dont fix it if it isnt broken

The only stronger replacement (aside from auto) is very very pricey.

George Baxter did 1,000rwhp on his T56, what really matters is how you treat it. 6,000 rpm dumps on huge slicks will break something, but being conservative will save it.

Relocated your TQ Arm...T56 trannies arent made for drag racing...(On his 4th trans now....) My two trannies in the shop being rebuilt have steel shift forks and carbon fiber syncro rings so we will see whats up with them once they come back.

Baxter's been running a turbo 400 since at least 2001 which he was running 1100rwhp. Besides the LT1 T56 is different than the LS1.

Unless you plan on pushing more HP than that you don't need a 9". It'll be excessive weight for nothing. A 12bolt will be plenty for you and cheaper complete.
