Post Will an LS1 fit??

I've put an LT1 into my V6.It's been a year now and I'm starting to realize how I wish I had tried to go with an LS1.So now I'm doing my homework. Will and LS1 fit into an LT1 Fbody with adjustments to the crossmember to accomodate the new engine??Thanks guys.

You will need a different hood as the LS1 sits higher than an LT1 and the LT1 hood won't clear it. Good luck.

Up the stakes to an LT4 so in another year you wont feel the same way.

I have to agree. Go with the lt4. the iron block is gonna be a huge improvement if you plan on some serious power. i actualy thought the ls1 engine sat lower under the hood than the lt1. could be wrong

LT1, LS1, LT4....why not go big and get an LS6 !! I know a guy putting one in his '01 SS. Should be sweet.

But to answer your question, any of these engines will fit. But it's much easier just to go but the car you want.

unless you get a really good deal on a LS1, its not worth it. it would be soooo much easier to do a cam swap w/ headers on that LT1. that will by all means blow the doors off an LS1.
if it needs to be rebuilt, build it with nitrous pistons and run a 200 shot. shouldnt be too hard to get over 500rwhp with that setup.
doing a motor swap just for a stock LS1 is pretty goofy.... all that work for ~40rwhp is crazy.
