I'm switching to an LSX or LQ9 with L92 heads and an L76 intake.

I know the small parts usually nickel and dime you to death.

There is a guy selling a low mileage LS2 with a T56 with all the pedals, sensors, wiring, accessories, etc for $7000. I would still need L92 heads and the intake.

Would this be cheaper than if I went and bought an LQ9 block with the heads, intake, sensors, accessories, tranny, wiring etc all separately?

Would you be doing all of the work yourself? Have you built an engine before?

I would be doing the install and wiring etc. I have a guy that builds my motors for me. He's damn good and does it dirt cheap so thats not an issue.

$7000 seems like a good deal to me. How low is the mileage?

It depends if you want a built motor or not but I think the complete setup for 7k sounds good.

No, don't waste your money on that. 7 grand sounds ok if thats what you were looking to do, but if you're going to be using it to build a stroker out of I would say you're better off getting a longblock from one of out sponsors, get an LS1 harness from a 99-02 car, and use that. The LS1 harness is easily adapted for an LS2, and T56's can be found for cheap on LS1tech.

Thanks guys. I think I might pick up the $7000 engine, do some heads, small cam, and then decide if I want to save for a year and get a Magnuson or just slap on an L76 and call it a day.

Grip,

Nobody wanted to buy your 93? I know with my 97 I had one heck of a time selling it but it did go in November. Are you going to be driving it this year with the 383 or have you sold that motor? I think it'll be awesome if you drop a L92 headed LSX into your car, should be able to make some serious power.

Good luck with your search for parts and your project. Give me a wave if you see a Torch Red Z06 with polished IForged rims cruising around!

All the best,

Tyler
