Why get an ignition? + one other ?

Just wondering whats the purpose of getting like an MSG Ignition. I just am not sure of why someone would get one.

Also just thought I would combine these two into one thread. Is getting a bigger throttle body worth it? And is there any special porting that needs to be done If i buy a bigger one and not port the one I have?

The aftermarket ignitions make up for inadequacies of stockers. The LS1's don't need it.

Don't worry about getting a larger T-body, just port your stocker or buy a ported stocker. Howto info on installuniversity.com or ls1howto.com. IIRC Bauer, Jantzer and Shaner sell them alone with most shops like MTI, Thunder, TSP etc.

Am I looking at a noticable hp/tq increase with a ported tb?

ported TB--- maybe a few hp at the wheels. Might lose a bit of down low torque. You'll need a larger cam to really justify a larger throttle body.

Makes for more throttle response is about all.
