What's the point of this mod - X-over

I was looking through ls1.com on the mods and it had this one:

http://www.ls1.com/link_exhaust.html

I don't know too much about exhausts and am curious what it would do performance or sound wise.

thats just something stupid to do when you dont have anything to do. i dont really care about the sound or performance improvement, if anybody has to do that as a mod, then they are straight up cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When LS1 F-bodys first came out there were few mods and they were all expensive.
That particular mod was to make a stock exhaust flow and sound better without spending big bucks on a Borla or B&B.
Not everybody has unlimited bucks to throw at their car and some home grown mods work just as well as boughten ones.
