Low temp thermostat , Hypertech programmer , KNN air filter , and the air box has been cut open under the filter. What do you think my hp is around ?

 

stat, minor tunage.. filtercharger and a free mod..

depending on what all got tuned with the HPP3 id put it in the 5-20hp range.. minus the HPP3 and prolly 5-10hp.

k&n doesn't have any performance gain, although they are nice because they are reusable.
FRA - having the stock opening sealed shut is the only way to even think of getting a gain from the FRA and then it becomes arguable on how much of a gain it has and at what speed you have to be going to have a gain from it. (The opening you made under the intake is called FRA, Free Ram Air.)
Thermostat - 5ish
Hypertech - no clue

I recommend getting a whisper lid or you can sand the fins off of the bottom of your stock lid. The TB bypass is also a good cheap mod IMO.

 

I thought about sanding the fins off myself. Thats the only restricting thing I could think of. If I did that and bought the smooth elbow to replace the stock tube that comes off the lid would my gains be about the same ?

 

I would think it would be close. I think the whisper lid is a tad bit bigger, but gains should be close.Here's a thread about a cheap alternative to the smooth bellow.

 

you really arent looking at much if any gain from your mods..

other mods are not worth in some of our opinions..
Do a search on that here because we had a bunch of posts regarding what some of us thought about free mods..

K&N will rob you of some power..

Your hypertech may or maynot be giving you power..

FRA is not worth it in my opinion..

Thermostat is not worth it in my opinion..

Sure a cooler engine makes more power but I dont see the engine being that much more cooler...

LS1's also have an odd ability to perform strong when they are warm.. at the track I dont even stop to cool off until I get bored of running and want to talk to people...

 

All I know is that there are a few people on this board that have seen and said that those small mods on my car made a darn good difference. Hey I just bought the car a month ago maybe it's a fluke. Maybe GM gave it to much power.
