I bought a 2000 Z28 A4 about 3 months ago and i'm pretty sure that the rear is a 3.42. Does anyone know what the codes are in the VIN number that determine gear ratio? PLEASE HELP......(pay cut is forcing me to sell her already)

 

u probably have 3.23.
i think ls1.com has the codes that tells u what u have.

 

Hoss you have a 3.23 rear end. It should say it in big white letters on the left side of your rear end. I believe from 2000 on they all had that...I know at the moment I have a 3.23 rear end in my car from a 2001 auto. (long story)
