Whats the big deal about GMMG?

Why is it constantly called the " Best " exhaust. It is two cheap baffled glasspacks with stainless tubing. Isn't anyone after a refined sound anymore?

I like the look of the exhaust but with the way people complain about the price of SLP I can't belive what GMMG gets for theres.

The GMMG system is very refined in a nice deep throaty kind of way IMO. It's one of my favorite systems for LS1 cars.

i actually got a chance to hear the gmmg today. this sgt. in a 2002 red firehawk had it. i told him to gun it through my entry point and it didnt really amaze me. it sounded like he had flowmasters.. i was like this is the gmmg. then again he had no headers or anything like that....maybe it might be a beast with headers and an off road y...

i absolutely HATE the way LS1's sound. but the GMMG is the ONLY one that i have heard that i do like. it is much more defined than the LM IMO. it costs WAY too much for what little it is, but it does sound good. just my .02

GMMG is like Mobil 1. Its a name most know, but nowhere near the only choice. A chambered muffler is a different type of muffler then a Flowmaster or any catback. that being said another good choice and alot less exspensive is to have a chambered stick made for you. http://www.sweet-thunder.com Mikes easy to deal with and makes a great product.

Im a very happy customer. You might also want to check out some of Borlas racing mufflers. Pricey but well worth it too. This is my 4th f- body. Ive had 6 different setups on the 4 cars including a GMMG. Having had a GMMG setup on my 98LT1. I can say my LM with a 28 inch chamberd stick in place of the resonator is so far the best sounding setup Ive had bar none.

I agree, GMMG does sound great, but I would never spend that much on just a Cat-back system. If you want performence, get a cut-out, and if you want sound, get what you like. I do love the GMMG but for the cost, I'll buy some Long Tubes and a cut-out (and add about 200 dollars, but w/e)

If you're after sound, you can get true duals for that price. GMMG sounds good, but not good enough to justify the price they're asking IMO. I also prefer the more refined sound, I'm going to be purchasing an SLP 2otl kit soon. Sounds good, flows well, and isn't too expensive.
