I read somewhere that the z style hood, which is a more direct ram air system than the SS hood will give about 7 HP more than SS hoods do. I'm not saying that is a fact, but it works in theory.

hood

I think the SS hoos with that one decal kit with the small stripes down the sides off the scoops look best. Next would be an Ultra Z hood. Unless you just have a trunkload of cash, I think you might be happier spending that money on mods. SSRA + SLP lid + LS6 intake manifold + Mass air sensor equal ropughly 700, which you would spend on the purchase and painting off the hood at least. With those mods youd be pretty quick.

ive yet to see any real proof that any of the hoods actually increase hp . personal opinion, i think the ultra z hood looks the best followed by the ss hood. "if" there is a hp difference between any of the functional ones..... its likely going to be next to nothing.

good luck .

I dont think a hood really gives bang for the buck myself. Painting the thing will cost more than the hood itself.

In fact, Thunder racing drags without a hood ;]

It's a better version of the slp / fast toys ram air. It's made of a high quality plastic that has two main pieces. The top piece looks like the others, but then there's a second piece that attaches and wraps under the front bumper. I've seen them a few places...most recently http://www.lmperformance.com/1858/13.html .
