Post What would it take for an LS6

As far as I know its diferent pistons, heads, and cams, how much do you guys think a conversion like that would cost considering it would be on the same engine block?

I don't even think the pistons are differnt, they aren't forged or they don't have higher compression ratio than the usual, I belive the heads are the big factor, plus the intake (2001 and 2002 f-bodys already have these), and i have never heard a z06 loap from a cam, plus computer tuning. They push 400 while a normal vette pushes like 340, 60 horses is a usual increse for heads. The big reason for their speed is because Z06's are hard tops with the trunk, not a hatch back, there fore they are alot lighter. I would say go to a higher performance like www.motorsporttech.com and get a heads and cam combo. If your going to spend money you might as well get a better setup. 60 horses on the LS6 at the fly compared to mti's 90 rear wheel horses.

I believe there is many more ways to make better power for alot cheaper....I think the only main differance is the heads n cam....and that could had for alot cheaper and probably flow better(higher flowing heads n more aggresive cam then a LS6), and still leave money for other things.
