What size converter on a 98

I'm still doing research on torque converters, and I would like to get one soon. I have decided on 3000 stall because I use it as a daily driver. But my main concern is the size (9" - 11"). Wouldn't they only make one size to fit. I've heard the smaller sizes are more expensive and more powerfull, but they heat up quicker.

One more thing is it alright to get the converter without the cooling unit. Thanks in advance.

I think I'm going with a converter through Midwest. They seem less expensive and have a 2 year warranty.

Get a tranny cooler, and install it. 24000GWV rated should do the trick. Otherwise:

Heat kills trannys. High stall converters generate a lot of heat. Get the idea?

Dont worry too much about the size of the convertor, as long as its made specifically for your car, you will be fine. Typically, higher stall convertors are smaller.

Midwest's convertors are very good. I have been running mine for almost a year now, with no complaints. I went with a 3000/2.1 convertor, and I dont even remember what the car was like without it.
