What parts of my modded LS1 will Transfer to an LQ9?
So here's the deal. I can get a brand new 421ci 6.0L LQ9 Iron Block. The Xtra weight doesn't concern me too much. But I have in my 02Z a pretty aggresive cam, PRC ported heads, chromoly push rods, YT Lite lifters, 37lbs injectors...etc
All bolt-ons like LT headers, FAST 90/90, Vette MAF..etc
So which of my goodies WON'T transfer to the LQ9?
What about the accessories? Oil and water pumps, alternator..etc? What mods while I need to do to get the LQ to fit and work properly?
And will the Magna SuperCharger fit this LQ like it does the LS1 (aside from some cowl/hood trimming)?
I already have a Monster brand clutch good to over 800rwtq and a S60 rear end. My goal is to be around 675 to 700rwhp and around the same in torque.
Or should I just forget the LQ all together and put a stroker kit in my LS so it can handle the supercharger?
Thanks in advance

Re: What parts of my modded LS1 will Transfer to an LQ9?
Pretty much everything will fit we swapped an LQ4 into my friends 98 T/A and it was pretty straight forward the outside dimensions are the same. The only thing of concern I see in your setup is that 37lb injectors are nowhere near big enough to support your hp goa
Are you going to keep your alternator on the bottom or relocate to the top?
edit: Just saw your in SA I'm 145 miles southwest of you and my friend with the LQ4 T/A lives there.

For some reason I am thinking thee is one less bolt hole on the accessory drive somewhere on the driver's side, but the vehicle will run fine without it. I did the exact same swap in my car, and re-used all my accessories.

I believe you're talking about where the alternator bolts up if I remember correctly but yea it runs fine without it.

---and yeah I think that hole is for the alternator...
Its all good news so I think Im gonna jump on this
