What are the major problems?

What are the most common problems that occur in the LS1 engine from 98'02'? Is it usually a worthy engine as long as all the regular maintenance checks are done?

some LS1's have an oil consumption problem at high(er) RPM's. so you change the oil more often

and not true with all LS1's..
