What kind of intake is this, and does it work well?
Here it is -

Does it work well? lol. Any ideas about it? Looks interesting to me. I'm used to seeing a 'lid'
Kinda reminds me of not too long ago when I riced up cars. Put a cone filter on the end of the intake tube, voila... 300hp car. heh.

However, I have never seen a K&N FIPK in that color configuration before. I always assume K&N products ducting is dark. Are these colors typical?
I posted something about that a month ago.

I'm just gonna go with the SLP lid. I mean heck, it's SLP! AND $99!! I believe they claim 10rwhp with the lid and another 5rwhp with a K&N or similar filter.

Like I have been saying in all of the lid posts here.. SLP lids may or maynot be manufactured well.
There used to be a post by a person who bought the SLP lid. The front corners looked like they were not sitting flush. After trying unsucessfully to get them seated right, he went to the actual SLP shop. There he was told that its common since they are subject to not all be created equally. Can you imagine if you buy the $99 lid and it looks funny... then seeing someone else with the same lid, and it looks perfect then calling SLP and them telling you that its the way it is and that they will not do anything to help you out.. SWEET DEAL! SIGN ME UP!
I too was heading for an SLP lid.. Until I looked on their forum, read that kernal of knowledge and am now looking at Whisper.. MTI should be kewl too but I feel the Whisper has a bit better price and many seem to be pleased as I have not heard any negatives assocciated with it.
