Re: what kind of gas milleage?????

i get 200-225 town, 300-320 (when 95% highway going 70-90mph) i drive to 2k-2500 most of the time... rarely go to 3k

EDIT: and shifting at 1300 DOES hurt mile per tank... i used to do that.. started shifting at 2-2500 and just letting it steady, but slowly going to 2500 and get much better mpg...

Re: what kind of gas milleage?????

I just drove my new 01 1500 miles on the highway, usually ~80mph, I only got 24..pretty consistant. I thought that was a little low, I did use cruise control

I get 17 to 18 in town, about 22-23 on the highway. With a mix of those two, I average right at 20mpg. I also have the 3.23 rear gear.

Re: what kind of gas milleage?????

I get around 225-250 per tank bare in mind that the gas tank capacity changed with the years 98's had a smaller tank.(not sure of lt1's) So miles per tank are pretty much useless. I usually get 19mpg city with almost no hw driveing.

Re: what kind of gas milleage?????

Here are some stats from my T/A. With a TR220 cam and headers, it got 28.2 mpg on the interstate in sixth. With heads and a 231/237 cam only using fifth gear it pulled 23.3. Of course on a road course it is in the 5-6 mpg range.

Its all how you drive and what type of mods you have. I have a 97 jeep cherokee 5spd and i get worse MPG on the HW then i do in the city due to the fact that the motor works alot harder to get it up to speed and to keep it around 75mph cause more of a load on the motor.

The camaro has no such problems. However, if you have a stall, heads and cam and gears you will be lucky to see 15mpg. For manuals its all shift points. For a stock car there is no need to shift at 3k 2,500 at the most, short stick it when ever possible. When cruisein keep it under 2k, but higher then 1400. Change plugs, oil and wires regularly and use a fuel system treatment to make sure the injectors are not getting clogged.

Re: what kind of gas milleage?????

This is my friends name. I have a 02' Z with LT's, Loudmouth, Lid, Therm., and i dont even reach 200 on a full tank. I just replaced my 02 sensor about 2 months ago and it got about 240 on a full tank, but now i cant even reach 200. I think my 02 sensor is acting up again. Any reasons why my car could be getting this bad of gas mileage????????
