ok, i saw this car at a dealership the other day. It was a stock looking 98+ Z28, dark red/maroon, but the roof was painted black (no t-tops), and on the rear bumper on the left it said "SLP", but in the right side it had the "Z28" badge. It wasnt an SS, so is this some kind of "special edition" camaro??

 

nah. just an emblem you can buy from SLP. i have one from the last SLP day here in florida.

 

It was probably a Z28. I have seen many Z28 owners put a SLP decal where you say you saw it on that car.

 

In my opion someone who just was stupid,ruined a Z28 and made someone think it was something different.
