What i need and how much Suggestions??

Im new to the camaro's i just got rid of y 94 rx7 and am looking for a more torquey car, i want to make about 550hp and in the 600 in torque, i want to s/c or procharge it and am wondering what is better and what else i need to do to the engine and how much its going to cost to get those numbers..thanks

alot, procharger is good. to keep the car in one piece at 550hp is easier than 550rwhp. it would pay to replace the rear, rebuild tranny, forged internal with lower compression to allow more boost down the road. traction mods. price? always double than you believe. teke told me that and i didnt believe him, he was right. id figure 8-10 thousand plus the procharger.

You're better off shooting for an ET et rather than a HP goal. I've seen some over 400 rwhp cars that only ran 12's, while there are bolt on only LS1's that can run 11's.

If i were to figure an E.T goal it would be low low 11's high 10's. Btw The car is a 99 SS

check out thunder racing...

high 10s on an LS1 is not hard.

one of thier project cars hit 10s on cam only, with a rebuilt drivetrain to handle the abuse.

a built auto tranny, 12bolt rear with steep gears, suspension mods and slicks. then a decent heads/cam setup on a bolt-on engine should have you there if you can drive

Yea i can drive but i dont want the slicks, its also gonna be my sorta DD, like half the week i just wanna know what the damage is gonna cost

well 10s arent' gonna happen on street tires...

not to mentions the stock 10 bolt won't hold up well behind 550hp if you plan to drive it hard at all.

so the 12bolt is almost a necessity.

check out the site sponsors, they have engine packages with "blower setups" to get an idea of price.
