Depends where you live. Don't get your hopes up on 15k. 17k sounds very reasonable because it has such low mileage.

i live in connecticut where winters are long and cold 15k seems reasonable since the market for theese cars is weak

If it hasn't been wrecked I think 17K is a very fair price. But of course if you can get him down any then definatley do it. Good luck.

The only reason I would be concerned about the car being 5 years old is if it hasn't been garaged (especially in Conn) or if it hasn't been cared for (paint waxed regularly, oil changes, etc.). Otherwise an LS1 SS, with 24k miles, that hasn't been wrecked and hasn't been abused (No NOS, major mods, etc.) is worth $17K. But like I mentioned earlier if you can get it for $15K then more power to you.

I got my '98 SS 3 months ago. It has all GM and SLP options, was owned my a guy in his 50's..was garaged all the time and stored in the winters. In mint condition. Had 14K on the clock and I got it for 16K.

I would offer him $15k I have seen 20k 01 SS's going for 18k-19k here in Orlando w/ SLP options.

Bought my SS a week ago for $18,995. Car has 9K miles on it though. Also remember I'm on Long Island....prices are always higher here.
