Change the oil, the air filter, full tank of gas...?
Is it better to go on a cool, dry day? I think there's a correction for temperature but I'm not sure about humidity. Also, would a 'near empty tank' run show any difference versus a 'full tank' run?

When I dynoed mine it had just been driven over 250 HARD miles and then sat for 45 minutes. (Hot Rod Power Tour). The only mods it had were FRA and K&N filter. I usually forget and say it was stock. Plus the 345 package from SLP with lid and dual center exhaust cat back. But that came from the dealer so ...

It put down 317/322. Whether that's close enough to stock for you or not ...???

damn these are great numbers.

280rw for an A4 is around 350hp at the motor? (20% drivetrain loss).

i've got a '98 A4 T/A with fra, slp mass air, elbow, filter....50k miles....what do you guys think it should do?

I would think it's better to go on a cool and dry day. If the dyno in my area is cheap, I'll go ASAP, but if it's like $100, I'm waiting until Dec. when it's cold down here.

My '99 put down 298 rwhp/302 rwt in stock trim. A few bolt-ons later and now I am in the 350/350 club.

This is an old thread. I laughed when I read my original post. Well I dynoed with the few mods in my sig w/out spraying at 311 to the wheels. I had 78,000 miles when I did it. 40 bucks for 3 runs. 1st run 306, 2nd run 308 and 3rd 311. Seemed like my computer kept doing slight adjustments for each run...or it could be just nothing.

I'm looking to get closer to 400hp. I want to steer away from porting heads, but a cam is something I plan on. Can you give me some ideas on what worked best for you...meaning the best bang per buck.

Hello. that be me! :P
hehe My car dynoed 306 for its first run.. then 3K miles later put down another 306-308 run.. Then another 5-8K miles later.. Put down a 315 run.. Repeatedly.. BONE STOCK.. PAPER FILTER.. but thats just me.. I think the car does perform as others have commented... Once broken in, the car seems to open up more.. It feels more lively and its summer time! I did hit 20K miles now tho and will be hitting the track in a couple weeks just to see how it runs in the heat.

When your car is being dynoed, should you know what your car's HP and TQ peak are at in order to get your car in that power zone?

I want to get my car dynoed when I have time.

It's bone stock, doesn't feel like a factory freak, so I'm thinkin' around 285 RWHP. I would love to hit the almighty 300.

I dont do anything.. just go.. make it real world ya know? So I have a decent idea of its power at most any moment. Oil changes wont make any difference in the pulls as my sig shows.. at least in my case.. No need to know the power zones.. They will typically just run the car to 6K.

I pay anywhere from $30-$40 for 2 runs on a "dyno day" or $75 for 3 runs on any day.. or $125 for 1 hours worth of runs when I am testing stuff..

BY the way.. in your sig... "99 NBM Z28, 3.23, stock chrome rims on BFG g-Force T/A KDWS, Monsoon, T-Tops, full tint" how did you mount rims on tires!??! that must be something to see! hehhe I always thought the tires were mounted on rims.. HEHHE
