What do ya think......

of the TSP H/C Stage 1.5 w/ Torquer 2 cam? Any good? I'm only looking to get 400hp or so to the tires for the street, but for track I'm adding 100 shot to the mix. I will be doing LT's W/ ORY, Borla CB, full bolton's, 4.10's and a tune.

For the price difference and with that cam, I'd go ahead and get their 5.3L heads.

The 1.5's and 2.0 are the 5.3 heads. The 1.0 are the LS6.

the cam alone should put down 400rwhp...i know mine came close and it had alot of bugs.

on a less than ideal tune, a slipping clutch, mis-adjusted throttle cable (only opened 85%) it put down over 380rwhp.

with all those problems fixed except the tune, i'm confident i'm at 400rwhp.

so that cam plus some mild ported heads should easily net you 420rwhp.

The 2.5 actually flows more with smaller runners. Stage 1 may be enough but the other would be better. Plus you won't have to change the springs or pay extra for the performance valve job like you would on the stage 1.

Look at the cost of the heads too.
After you get the comp valve job (if you want the advertised flow numbers) and PRC springs (which you'll need for that cam) you're looking at $1299 for the LS6 heads.
The stage 2.5 is $1199 and comes with both of those plus larger stainless valves.

Ya, pay $100 more for a lesser ported head because its enough.
