What is a cutout?
Well, I know it is exhaust related from what I've been reading.
All I picture is a HOLE in your exhaust, either after the headers or before the muffler...
Why would one want to put a hole in your exhaust? That wont pass emissions or inspection now, will it?
Someone please explain =)

No it won't pass inspections, but it comes with a plate so you can cap it. yes it is basically just a hole in your exhaust just before the muffler. Why?? MORE HORSEPOWER!!

Is there a 'kit'? Or just an amateur hole and a plate you can put to cover it?
I hear of people flipping a switch to cover it again... is there some sort of a mechanical kit for this?

I ordered a flowtech cutout ($30) and had it welded in ($20). It comes with the cap. Pretty easy.
The switch you're thinking of is quicktime electric cut out. It's a cap that can be controlled from within the car.
Cut outs IMO are the first mod you should do. Cheap, easy, and adds sound and horses.

Its a very simple mod that increases top end HP as well as makes the car louder
My suggestion is to shop around for places to weld them. Some charge more while others charge a lot less. We have cutouts for $29 + ship if you're interested
