- Piston Slap: although I don't that's actually going to hurt anything, since pretty much all of them have it:rolleyes:, but it's a common issue. Mine sounds like $h!t sometimes:mad:.

- Warped brake rotors: I've got almost 17,000 miles on my car, and only lately am I starting to notice a slight "pulsing" when I brake...............it's not bad yet, but I think it's probably the rotors, so I guess that's an issue (but they are HUGE rotors though?! and the brakes work amazing IMO even if they are warped!! )

I have 26,000 miles on mine and it's smooth.

My passenger side window is slow just like my 97' was.

My SES light came on just recently though.

LS1 problems

Rotors has to be the top of the list for ls1 problems. You really have to be careful not to warp them. I have 8,000 miles on my TA and I had to turn the rotors at 4,000. Now I have another another one that is a little warped. I definitely will change them in front to Baer rotors.

My rotors on the 01 TA had been turned and replaced countless times...I finally replaced them with a decent set from CarQuest, and havent had any more trouble with them in 35,000 miles...funny because my 98 never had such a problem. From reading the boards over the past several years, it seems that the LS1s 'common' 'problems' are limited to oil pumps (98-99) piston slap/oil consumption (all years) fuel pumps when run on empty (all years) squeaky pulley(s)with higher mileage (all years) running rich/lean (all years) and thats all I can think of. As for the rest of the car (which applies to all 4th gens) power window motors frequently going out, leaking pinion seals, rattles/squeaks in the interior, pop-up headlamp motors (Firebirds/TransAms) and A/C blower fans.

I would definitely say warped rotors, I have 16xxx miles and can feel the pulsing when I brake, its no big deal really. Other problem I've heard and have had is the window motors, mine stopped working twice on the drivers side window. Other than that, the only problem is having too much fun and not wanting to stop driving. :D

Squeky pulleys? is it bad? is there a fix for it?

Squeky pulleys? is it bad?>>>

My LS1 started to squeak after I hit 90,000 miles...I didnt bother doing anything about it, it never got worse and I traded the car in with 114,000 miles. I think its more of an annoyance than an actual problem. I beat the crap out of the engine, and practically drove it til the wheels (or pulleys?) fell off.
