Question What cam provides the most power, and is it useable on the street?

I'm looking at buying a cam for my 02 SS, M6. I want to know which cam performs the best, and if it would be wise to use it on the street, I do go to the track every now and then but I still drive on the street a lot. Also, would it be wise to buy heads with the cam or even get a package like slp's?
thanks for your info

For a specific cam to perform, it is best to use it with the require parts or matched parts. Depending on your mods (now and potential), it could be anywhere from a 218 to a 236. Also, yes it is best to get a whole package that was designed to work together, rather than trying to guess what cam you setup needs. Talk to the vendors for more serious assitance regarding selecting a cam for your car and the way you intend to drive it. No one cam fits the criteria you asked for, I don't care what anyone says. All the serious experts will agree with me on this point.

MRZ28HO said it perfectly. A cam needs enough flow through the heads, intake, and exhaust to perform as it was intended. If any one of these components isn't up to par, performance will suffer.

If you plan on buying a set of heads later then get a cam that is made for the heads you want, if not i would look at www.thunderracing.com at the 224/224 cam. what you got to look at is if you want more mid power or more high power.
