Post What belt will replace the serpentine and bypass the power steering pump?

I need to know in a hurry what belt I can buy to bypass the power steering pump? Also will this hurt anything if I do this only at the track and how much will I gain?
2002 basically stock engine ls1

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could tell me what size belt or the part number of a belt that will fit on my 2002 ls1 and bypass the power steering pump yet still run from the crank to the water pump and alternator.

If you pull the belt off the pump, you'd have to disconnect the pump from the rack. Typically, you leave the fluid in and route the hose from one side of the rack to the other side of the rack.

Since the pump is idle when you're driving in a straight line, the gain would be minimal - 3 to 5 hp? Be sure to sign up for the gym and those upper body workouts so you can park that thing.

A quick search found this:

What's the hurry?
