Question Weight of LS1 Z

I'm trying to settle an disagreement between my brother and I. The factory spec tag on the inside of my driver's side door says something like 4020lbs for the MGVW or something like that. Then it gives the same thing for weight on the front wheels and weight on the back wheels. Is this really how much my car weighs? I've never heard of one of these cars weighing over 4000lbs. Does this number stand for something else? Sorry if this is a dumb question

Cool

The weight listde on the door is with a full tank of gas (not sure about the weight of gas) and 4 adult passengers (GM uses fat people and figures around 700 pounds).

in the nada book it gives weight and it says that these cars weigh 3450,(i looked up trans am, cause thats what i have) but i know it more than 3320 lbs, the v6's weigh only a few lbs less than that, but it probably depends a lot on the options, like t-tops, power seats windows etc. that crap adds a lot of weight

Man, when I did my dyno session, the guy told me that my car weight 3750!!!!!! I said "what?? where did you get that information??" He told me the internet.
Good lord!! Now, I only weigh 165 lbs, so I guess my question is this. Does the weight of a car affect the dyno results???

Just a little info from a drag racer......

Gas weights about 8 lbs. per gallon. Water weights about 7 lbs. per gallon. This is why water settles to the bottom of any container with gas in it, including your fuel tank.

Enjoy your cars.

Lightbulb

Actually, water weighs 8.34 lbs/gal
and gasoline weighs 5.8-6.5 lbs/gal

you had your numbers reversed.

My stripper '98 Z28 weighed 3360 on the NHRA scales at Ennis, and my '01 T/A weighed 3490 on the same scales. Both cars had close to 3/4 tank at the time.

Thanks for the correction Robertoz28. Fingers type faster then the brain after a long, hot, day at work. The fact remains that any undistilled petroleum is lighter then water and thats the reason crude oil spills are a hazard Correct me if I'am wrong.
