weigh in here

Just put my car on the scales to see how much it weighs cause I've been curious about it. Turns out it weighs 3350lbs.

Seems kinda light but I don't really know what camaros usually weigh in at. Its a stripper car and had an empty tank. Anyone else weighed their car can tell me if that sounds right. Also I wasn't in the car when it was weighed.

Thanks,
Josh

Im 3660 with me and a half tank. No lightening done. Im 230, so that leaves 3430 for the car + 8 gallons of gas. Mine is a typical mid option T top car.

Cool. I just seemed to remember reading a post not to long ago of a guy who weighed his car and it was 3800 lbs or something like that.

Thanks alot guys. What could I get the weight down to by removing the spare tire, jack and rear seats. Also if there is anything else you remove to drop some weight I would appreciate the info.

Thanks,
Josh

Not sure how much my car weighs..my guess is that it would have to be pretty light to get down the track as quick as it does. How do you guys weigh 'em?

Well you take a jack and a bathroom scale and. . .

Nah, they have a scale here on base so I weighed mine there, but lots of truck stops have scales you can use (sometimes they charge), landfills and recycling centers.

Check around and you can prolly find one close.

jack and spare = 40-45 lbs. + rear seats = 20ish lbs.

front swaybar weighs 15 pounds and helps the front suspension unload on launch for better weight transfer.

skinnies and lightweight drag wheels are a HUGE help.

floormats are about 10 lbs altogether

lightweight battery saves about 25 lbs over stock (one of those 13 lb dry cell things)

A/C is a good thing to ! if you don't find yourself needing it very often...its a pain to take out but its a good amount of weight off the nose..

Aftermarket torque converter cuts about 15-20 lbs in addition to its obvious performance improvement.

my car weighed 3430 with me in it with only rear seats/passenger seat removed (one time track day thing lol), floormats and hatch well cover removed and jack and spare removed...(granted im only 140 lbs.)
